MyBlogLog Traffic Secrets

Do you use MyBlogLog to drive traffic to your BLOG?

I have used MyBlogLog off an on way before Yahoo bought the site. I remember back when the site was new and the features were few.

Today I have over 10,500 contacts listed on MyBlogLog. And my pageviews is well over double (almost triple) that number.

The best way I found to get traffic to my BLOG from MyBlogLog is to add people as my contact.

Its that easy. Not posting messages with links on peoples profiles. Not requesting community join swaps. Not anything unethical.

I simply add contacts to my list and a few of them visit my BLOGs.

There is a trick that I figured to help me get a higher percentage of visitors as opposed to just randomly adding contacts. For now, that will be my secret.

No matter what you do and how well you thing you are doing it, always look for ways to improve.

Take Care,

Michael

Hey Michael! You just left me a comment for a happy Thanksgiving at Mybloglog and I really, really appreciated it.

I want to say one more thing. When you left me the message, I clicked on your blog (this one). I am quite impressed! I haven't been here in awhile. I am going to add you to my blog list somehow. I am not sure how, as my blog is new, and I am trying to figure out how I want to add new blogs -- through links or through a Blogger blog roll or what. Let me tell you how Sometimes I Think is and is NOT new, LOL -- Sometimes I Think was on AOL, and AOL closed down their journals, so I migrated Sometimes I Think to Blogger! Not sure if you knew that. Please stop by. I will leave you the link at the end of this comment...

Anyway, I just wanted to let you know I was going to know that I am going to add you somehow.

I wanted to know if you could do me a favor. And it is not why I am adding you, LOL. I'll add you whether you help me or not! But I am trying to figure out what you mean in this entry, "MyBlogLog Traffic Secrets". What do you mean by "add people as your contacts"? I am so stupid on mybloglog and can't even figure out how to use it. Could you help me, LOL? You are somebody I really respect, and I would love to have your input. Perhaps there is something I could help you with, even. Please email me back, at fisherkristina@aol.com . Please help. i love mybloglog and can't figure out how to use it! You are great, as you are one of the few bloggers i know that care, b/c you actually respond to those who speak to you.

i know it is hard to do this. i can't always answer ALL those who want to ask me questions. but i do AS MUCH as i can. because yes, we do things to get traffic, and make money, but we also give a lot to give, not just give a lot to get. in other words, we give really to give, and in the process we get. does that make sense? that is what i tell all my blogger friends who are scandalized when they find out i read blogs to make my blog better.

they say, "how could you do that? that's horrible! you are being disingenuous! you're TRYING to get readers." so i say, "you are not? you don't want any readers? than why do you write? so only you can read it? I DO NOT believe you when you say you don't want readers. YOU are being disingenuous! You don't fool me."
;)

At any rate, must run. I hope you and your family have a great Thanksgiving. Krissy :)

Michael, suggestion to get more comments!

Make your comment box more userfriendly, and more able to receive comments. Make it easier, more people will comment!

If you'd like, do the following! --if you are not the type of person who gets much spam, you should drop the moderation blockage. The remark about the comment "will be visible after blog owner approval." That makes the reader feel bad that you need to "approve him". That's the way I feel anyway. It is also very uninteractive. You'll never get a lot of fast and furious comments, like ProBlogger for instance. (you do know problogger, correct? if not, ask me!). one of the reasons problogger gets many comments, is that it allows for immediate interactive discussion in its combox. It accomplishes this by allowing its readers to comment in real time, both replying to one another and the author, and the authors replying to them. The comments come in fast and furious.

Almost nobody is in need of the moderation thing. If you begin to get harassed, it is easy to trace, even through something like sitemeter or another site statistic tracker. You can even find a tracker, as you probably know, that will give you the exact email addy of someone who is stalking you. if you want info on that, let me know! you probably already know though, and i don't want to patronize you...

Next suggestion: Don't have your comment section on a separate page! Embed (put) a combox (comment box)at the bottom of your post. It is a new option that Blogger provides. It is the option that reads something like "embed comments at bottom of post". I believe you must go through customization, then settings if i remember correctly. Then set up the way you want your comment box to be. I think that is where it is, if not, keep on looking, LOL. I'm trying to do this from memory, Michael! the point of this is, since i put an embed combox at the bottom of my post, i have noticed my comments have about doubled! Many people don't know how to post in Blogger blogs. I never did. Only fellow Bloggers! If you want traffic throughout the whole blogosphere, you may want to consider this!

Okay, gotta run, Michael. I hope i have not patronized you, and if i have, i am sorry. i was just giving you some suggestions, and perhaps you have already thought this out thoroughly, and want to do it the way you are doing it. If so, ignore this email. Heck, either way, delete this email. just giving you suggestions to help you. but of course the final choice of what you do, as we both know, is yours. I do hope i helped you some, michael. now i am going to make a quick run out to Giant and get some pumpkin pie...

Krissy :)
